...when I say this, but I am totes serious when I say that IF THERE IS ANYTHING WRONG WITH THIS PAPER, PLEASE DON'T TELL ME. This isn't a "Tally can't take criticism" thing, this is a "Tally already turned in this paper and will totally flip out if she missed something because it's too late to fix it" thing. Okay?
I'm only posting this because some of you said that you were interested in reading it. Anyway, it's behind the cut. Sorry about the parentheticals.

...but I don't want to miss today's entry by waiting until I'm finished.
It's not that I'm having a hard time writing it; there's just a lot to say, and I'm trying really hard to say as much as possible without sounding ranty. It's also harder than you'd think to keep my hatred of Jonathan Franzen's translation to myself. Here's the best I could do:
Jonathan Franzen’s Melchior (as quoted above) warns Wendla of his violent streak, a remnant of their last encounter, while still implying with the phrase “I’m going to” that he has already decided that he will harm her. This gives Melchior’s actions a darker feel, even suggesting that raping Wendla is something he has foreseen.
This is, of course, my way of saying that Franzen is an asshole who turns Melchior into some sort of crazed psychopath who plans to rape Wendla.
I need a life...and seven more pages. Back to work.

...and I'm really excited about it. I've still got a TON to do, but seriously, how can you not find this fascinating:
(from the introduction to the musical...that actually does have a place in my paper)
“In Wedekind’s script, Melchior ‘date-rapes’ Wendla. We wanted to see him make love to her. More: we wanted to show how this young man (who jests at his friend’s puberty wounds) first uncovers ineluctable sexual feelings; how he begins to own his sexual identity; how he helps Wendla awaken to hers. The truth is, we had already, irrevocably, set Melchior on this path when we gave him the song “Touch Me. ” There, he articulates his sense of ‘the female’ yearning for pleasure, singing as if in some hypothetical woman’s voice…Sheltered in a hayloft in a rainstorm with an actual young woman—Wendla—and confronted with the possibility of giving her that pleasure, Melchior cannot restrain himself.”
Okay, I know I'm a total dork, but still.
Also, it took me an HOUR to make up my works cited page because of the archive stuff I read today. (One of Ted Hughes' editors suggested changing Melchior and Moritz's names! I know, I know. Total dork).

...BECAUSE I NEED YOUR HELP. AND YES THIS IS ALL GOING TO BE IN CAPSLOCK, BECAUSE IT IS REALLY IMPORTANT. OKAY, SO I HAVE A TWELVE PAGE RESEARCH PAPER DUE ON WEDNESDAY, AND ONE OF THE BOOKS I TRIED TO GET FOR IT DIDN'T WORK OUT, AND I NEED IT. BADLY.
SO, IF YOU HAVE ACCESS TO THE TED HUGHES TRANSLATION OF SPRING AWAKENING (CHECK YOUR SCHOOL LIBRARIES...PLEASE!), YOU WOULD BE MY LIFESAVER IF YOU COULD SEND ME PICTURES OF A COUPLE OF SCENES (ACT 1, SCENE FIVE AND ACT 2, SCENE FOUR) AND THE INTRODUCTION (IF THERE IS ONE).
THIS IS VERY, VERY, VERY IMPORTANT.
I'M GOING TO EMORY ON TUESDAY TO LOOK AT SOME PAPERS, TOO, BUT I REALLY NEED THIS TRANSLATION. I KNOW THAT UGA AND EMORY HAVE IT, AND I KNOW THERE ARE PEOPLE ON MY FLIST WHO GO THERE.
EDIT: this is a really lame 800th entry.

...because I went to Outback with Catherine and my parents. We ate steak. It was tasty. My parents were slightly normal.
Last night, I stayed up REALLY late watching videos on Hulu, and I'm now caught up on The Simpsons, The Office, and Bones. I also watched a couple episodes of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. I'd forgotten how much I love that show.
I spent an hour or so this afternoon in the music building practicing my ukulele for the talent show tomorrow. (I'm singing Whiny Breakup Song). It was really nice being able to just belt it out. I haven't really had a chance to do that in a while.
Also, Catherine and I watched "Slap Bet" yesterday. I've done my job as a roommate.

...was absolutely perfect.
Just everything it should have been and needed to be. I won't say anything more, because of spoilers and whatnot, but I am very happy at the way it ended.
(Well, except that Monk and Natalie don't get together, but I kind of figured that wouldn't happen).
The first Dollhouse was insane. I missed the second one.
Also, post your address here if you want a holiday card.

...flegh.
I've watched all of the bonus features on my Dollhouse DVD (including the unaired pilot), and now I'm marathoning the first season as research for my Jossverse Big Bang.
I also just spent 30 minutes in line to get a grilled chicken sandwich, and I'm going to go eat it now.
Also, go comment here, so I can send you a holiday card.
Edit: Ice Princess is on. My night just got much better. (I missed the first part of Bones already).

...TGIO (Thank God It's Over) party, and it was so much fun. There weren't very many people there, because it's a weekday, and it was in Decatur. (There's another couple on Sunday, but I can't go, because I'm doing the talent show). However, it was still totes awesome.
I sang a couple of songs (I brought Kaylee with me... we're kind of NaNoFamous), and everyone read excerpts from their novels. I got some stickers, too. (I am such a dork).
I also got to talk to someone about hidden object games, which I'm really getting back into of late. There's a new Mystery Case Files (my favorite series) out, but it's the collector's edition, which means it's $20, and they don't accept game credits. So, while I wait for the regular edition to come out at some point in the next week, I've been playing some new games.
I found a code to get Hidden Expedition: Everest for free. I played it yesterday, and I really enjoyed it. I'm going to get the next one in the series soon.
Today, I got Escape the Museum, because I've heard it's really long. (It's AWESOME...I've played for about three hours, and I'm barely 1/2 way through). I wanted to buy the second one, too, but I only had one game credit left, and I'm saving it for the new MCF game.
Then, I joined something on Big Fish Games (which is where I buy all my games), and I was supposed to get two codes to get two games free (it was a here's five options, choose two, kind of thing), but the e-mail didn't have any codes in it. I e-mailed the website, and today, they sent me two codes that applied to any games on the website (except special editions). I was so excited. How nice it that? So, I got Escape from the Museum 2, and I'm going to get the second Hidden Expedition with the other one. (I'll get the third Hidden Expedition when I get my next game credit at the end of December).
I know none of you care, but I'm excited. (And I think Jess plays HOGs, so maybe someone will actually find this interesting).

Enjoy. I'm going to go watch Roseanne.

Note: the song is for my grandparents' 50th anniversary. I wrote it this weekend. Also, Deborah is (entirely) based on my friend Susanne, who insisted that she meet Sidney Crosby in my novel.

...a good day.
I got to hang out with Jacky for about 2.5 hours. I also purchased (while hanging out with Jacky) season seven of Monk and season three of Psych.
THEN, I got home and my dad was all "Do you want to go to MovieStop?"
So, we went and I bought volume 5 of Family Guy, season 5 of The Simpsons, season 3 of Charmed, and Ghost World.
Then, I watched Across the Universe with my parents.
I've purchased 8 sets of TVDs in about 24 hours. I've spent less than $100. Yay for Target and MovieStop.

...I was visiting Catherine in Tampa. I spent $80 and I was upset that we only had a GameStop in Alpharetta.
Today, I found a MovieStop less than 20 minutes from my house. (It's not next to the GameStop I previously mentioned). My life will never be the same. I already bought: Season 1/2 of Family Guy, Season 1 of Dollhouse, and Season 1 of I Dream of Jeannie. And, I only spent $40. I love MovieStop. (Think of it as a used book store, but with movies).
It was a good day.
I also saw The Blind Side (which was partially filmed at Agnes, and very good) and last week's Monk, which was fantastic, and I'm pissed that I'm missing the first part of the finale tonight. I am really going to miss that show.

...my Twitter feed, or most of my e-mails all day, because it's Thanksgiving, and I've spent the majority of my day with my family. Mostly watching movies and TV shows.
My cousin, Riley, and I have about the same taste in TLC/Food Network shows, so we watched Cake Boss and Ace of Cakes. And, I did a mini-Thanksgiving episode marathon while my mom was cooking dinner--Northern Exposure, Friends (The One Where Ross Got High), WKRP in Cincinnati, Will and Grace, and The Simpsons. I know there were more shows we could have watched, but, as I said, it was a mini-marathon.
Then, we had "dinner" (at 1), which was fantastic, because my mom likes to use lemon juice in the gravy, and I love lemon.
Then, we watched Footloose, That Thing You Do, and The Holiday. It was a good day. Now, I'm going to take a long, hot bath and then write 15 words of my novel.
